A Busy Week at the Lab

Above are some of the in process laptops we have in the lab. Our volunteers are the key to our success, and our Strategic Director, Mike Brown, pulls it all together. This week as school winds down for our local Public School students, Laptop Upcycle has been very busy. Since we want to roll it all in to one post for our social media feed, here are some bullet points:

Yesterday morning (6/19/19) we set up 10 laptops for the new office of the Montclair Mindful Awareness Academy for Children upstairs in room 106 of the United Way building. We're excited to support Andrea Smith-Morgan with her program here in town and we wish her great success.
This evening we have another "In Lab" delivery for students in conjunction with the Reaching Out Montclair organization and the MNDC where approximately 8 students will receive laptops for the Summer, and beyond. This is a follow up to a previous delivery which we did a while back. You can read about it here. Many thanks to Madeline Guthrie!
Tomorrow (6/21/19) morning we deliver 48 laptops to the Greater Newark Lifecamp to support their Summer programs. We have excess stock on hand, so it was an easy decision to loan the Lifecamp the equipment.
Our partner the Electronic Access Foundation had the need to provide 24 laptops to the folks at Rising Tide Capital, so we worked our magic on those and have them ready for delivery to their students next week.
Finally, our weekly volunteer program continues. You may join us in the Lab most Sundays - learn some tech, and get some community service hours. Go to our FB group to get connected.
