Do you have a lot of talent and some creative time to spare for a growing community organization? Laptop Upcycle is actively looking for one or more social media volunteers to help us regularly showcase Laptop Upcycle activities, needs, our unique concept, our successes, and how individuals and organizations can help. Our focus is how to increase both donor interest and community outreach.

About Laptop Upcycle
We are a committed group of Montclair community members and professionals who have created a technology “Pied Piper” program: We take donated laptops and give them to high school and middle school students that don’t have home computers. Our goal is to narrow the achievement gap using a lean, efficient, volunteer-powered organization. And, it’s green too! In our first year, we were able to distribute 75+ laptops to kids in need. Our goal is to grow the program – we need your help!

What You’ll Do
- Be part of our official media team
- Work with our marketing, writers, video, technical team members to regularly keep Laptop Upcycle top of mind
- Contribute professional expertise and thinking
- Provide networking and service connections to further the Laptop Upcycle’s goals and mission
- Contribute to one or more active committees to produce needed materials
- Build Laptop Upcycle brand awareness and affinity among past donors, potential donors, Montclair High School alumni, teachers, administrators, students and parents (in need and donors)
- Establish Laptop Upcycle as a deserving community non-profit and resource
- Nurture donor and recipient audiences into action with constant communication and information
- Share a mix of relevant links, blog posts, and engaging content
- Encourage outside and in-house promoters and evangelists
- Reach a broader and connected audience
- Demonstrate a high level of activity and trust
- Encourage comments and engagement
- Increase subscribers
- Increase volunteers
- Drive traffic to website or events

- Attend occasional meetings
- Serve as an online and in-person advocate of Laptop Upcycle
- Refer other professional volunteers to meet the organization’s needs
- Be responsive to deadlines, requests, telephone calls and emails
- Grow with us! Build a team!
