Laptop Upcycle provides equipment to students and their families as it becomes available. We work to ensure that we can deliver a quality product to our clients and we are excited to provide this service to the community.
Since we are in our start up phase, we are actively working to gather our hardware stock, develop and refine our training and support services, and set up our distribution systems. Once Laptop Upcycle has its infrastructure in place to properly support its clients we will begin hardware distribution activities.
As we are getting ready, Laptop Upcycle is excited to accept client hardware requests and add them to the processing queue. Once we go online, we will work with each client in the order requests were received to deliver on requests. Although we will not strictly limit free laptops based upon school grade, we give priority to High School and Middle School student requests.
Please enter your basic contact information in the form below. A Laptop Upcycle representative will confirm the receipt of your request. Your information will NOT be shared anywhere, nor will it be added to a mailing list.
Certification of Need
Laptop Upcycle is a program designed to match equipment to those who need it. To complete the process, we will ask potential clients for one of the following documents prior to confirming our agreement to provide equipment:
A copy of the free/reduced lunch form conformed by the Montclair Board of Education.
A copy of a letter from the school principal confirming student need.
A copy of a letter from the school counselor confirming student need.
We're happy to work with parent or guardian to help obtain this certification and thank you for your understanding.
Technology Options Available
Laptop Upcycle is happy to offer two (2) options for potential clients:
1. Free wifi modem for the home with 4 years of free internet access.
Laptop Upcycle has assumed ownership of the US Sprint Connected Ed program originally offered by Montclair Kids First in Montclair. With the support of US Sprint and generous donors in Montclair, Laptop Upcycle is able to offer a limited number of additional safe internet routers to qualifying students in town.
2. A free wifi enabled laptop computer.
Laptop Upcycle will provide one laptop per qualifying family to support the education needs of students in Montclair. Specific hardware configurations are dependent on donations received. We will work hard to meet the student preference, but at a minimum we can ensure that we can provide a stable, wifi enabled laptop that will support the needs of a Montclair public schools middle school or high school student.
Please complete the application form below, providing all supporting information requested. A Laptop Upcycle representative will confirm your request, verify any additional information required, and add it to the queue. We look forward to working with you, and thank you.
*** Please note, we currently ONLY process requests from families who have students in the Montclair Public Schools. ***
